The Society of African American Transit Employees (S.A.A.T.E.) is now soliciting applications for the 2011Scholarship Award. Applicants Must be a child or legal custodian of a financially active member of the S.A.A.T.E. These awards are for students graduating in June 2011 and will be attending a Post Secondary Institution as well as for students who are currently enrolled. Society members who are attending a Post Secondary Institution may also apply. click here to download application

The Society of African-American Transit Employees will be holding its 43rd Anniversary Scholarship Dinner Dance Honoring Fraternal Society Presidents on Friday May 6th, 2011 at The Eastwood Manor located at 3371 Eastchester Road, Bronx NY.
This year’s Honorees will be:

Ralph Vazquez
President, Hispanic Transit Society
Edri Kearse
2nd Vice President, S.A.A.T.E.
The Society will also be honoring Sandra Jernigan of West Farms Depot and West Farms Depot TWU Recording Secretary, Darryl Walters of Michael J. Quill Depot and Asst. Business Manager of the S.A.A.T.E., and Alicia Evans of West Farms Depot and Executive Secretary to the President of the S.A.A.T.E. with the SAATE Merit Award.
